Fire candidate blog posting answers.
Question 1: Discuss one area of the fire station that you found to be interesting. Why was this area interesting to you? Be specific.
Answer: I found the fire pole and the bunkers to be interesting. During my ride along at station 1 the bunkers seemed to be all connected into one thing but I didn't get a good look. The fire pole also was interesting to see in use. There weren't too many surprising things that I saw there this time.
Question 2: out of the various pieces of equipment that will be shown to you, which one were you most interested in and why?
Answer: There wasn’t that much equipment shown in the CPAT test but in general I think the halligan bar is the most interesting tool a firefighter has due to the usability of it.
Question 3: how do you think you would do on an exam on the various parts of the fire truck, ambulance, or hose system? What did you think was the hardest part to manage of those pieces?
Answer: I do know I am not winning any awards if I were to take an exam on those things but, it would not be horrible. Managing all the parts for an ambulance is probably the worst though considering you have to check the expiration dates regularly and replace them. If you were to show up on an EMS call without something important in your ambulance you are in trouble.
